Regions Bank announced a partnership with Worldpay, the merchant‑acquiring arm of Global Payments, to give its business clients access to a comprehensive payment technology platform that supports in‑store, online, and mobile acceptance, as well as cash‑flow management tools.

The collaboration builds on Regions’ existing payment initiatives, including the 2024 launch of Regions CashFlowIQ powered by BILL and the 2023 partnership with Mastercard and Nordis Technologies. By integrating Worldpay’s platform, Regions Merchant Services will offer a unified solution that streamlines payment processing across the bank’s 1,250 branch locations and digital channels.

While the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the partnership is expected to broaden Regions’ merchant‑services revenue base and provide a scalable, global payment network that can support the bank’s growing commercial‑banking client base. The deal also positions Global Payments, which completed its acquisition of Worldpay on January 12, 2026, to deepen its footprint in the U.S. commercial‑banking market.

The partnership is part of a broader industry trend of consolidation, as payment processors seek to combine technology, scale, and customer reach. For Regions, the alliance signals a continued focus on digital transformation and the expansion of its cash‑flow and payment capabilities, which could drive higher client retention and new business acquisition.

The collaboration will roll out in phases, with an initial pilot expected to launch in the second quarter of 2026, followed by a full rollout across all Regions business‑banking channels by the end of 2026. The bank has not yet announced specific pricing or revenue‑sharing arrangements.
