GXO Logistics has installed its first fully automated trailer loading and unloading system in Europe at Grupa Żywiec’s Elbląg plant in Poland. The Autoload system reduces loading time to roughly two minutes, eliminates the need for manual forklift operations, and improves dock safety by removing material‑handling equipment from the loading area.

The system automates the entire trailer movement in a single one‑shot cycle, enabling higher throughput on existing infrastructure. It is part of GXO’s expanding automation portfolio and is complemented by autonomous mobile robots, ProGlove and Cognex scanners, and an integrated warehouse management system, underscoring the company’s commitment to end‑to‑end automation.

The partnership with Grupa Żywiec, a long‑standing customer for over a decade, supports the beer producer’s sustainability and operational excellence goals by cutting energy consumption and glass usage through improved returns processes. "We are proud to introduce another joint innovation with Grupa Żywiec, our trusted partner for over seven years. As a technology leader and early adopter of advanced automation, GXO continues to set new benchmarks for operational performance. With nearly 50% of our Central Europe revenue generated from automated operations, our continuous improvement mindset enables us to deliver measurable efficiency gains and support our customers' long‑term growth," said Jean‑Luc Bessade, GXO’s Managing Director for Central Europe.

GXO’s broader automation strategy is reflected in its Q4 2025 results, which showed record revenue of $13.2 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $881 million. The company is guiding 2026 revenue growth of 4–5% and adjusted EBITDA of $930–$970 million, indicating confidence in continued investment in automation. "Humanoids are going to be one of those technologies. I think it's game‑changer technology for the supply chain industry," said CEO Patrick Kelleher.

Michał Kalinowski, Grupa Żywiec’s Contract Logistics Manager, added that GXO helps the company "boost productivity, safety and sustainability, allowing us to focus our resources on what matters most – growing our core business." Kelleher also highlighted North America as a top priority, noting it represents about a third of GXO’s business and a $250 billion contract‑logistics market. "We're continuing to lean into automation because we see it as a structural enabler of margin expansion and a key driver of long‑term competitive advantage. We're already deploying robotics and AI across over 50% of our sites globally, and the results are translating into faster throughput, higher accuracy, and lower cost per unit. This isn't just a pilot phase, this is GXO's future," said CFO Malcolm Wilson.

The announcement did not generate a notable market reaction, but it reinforces GXO’s position as a leader in contract logistics automation and signals ongoing investment in technology to support high‑volume customers like Grupa Żywiec.
