Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center has finished a $70 million renovation of its 1,100 guestrooms, suites, and public spaces, completing the work in 14 months while the hotel remained open.
The overhaul introduced new furnishings, upgraded technology, and a refreshed aesthetic that reflects Denver’s natural landscape. It added an 891‑square‑foot Summit Five meeting room and upgraded existing event spaces, expanding capacity for conferences, weddings and other gatherings.
Sustainability was a key focus: 90 % of furniture and materials were reused, and recycled shower pans were installed, aligning with Hyatt’s broader environmental goals.
The renovation supports Hyatt’s asset‑light strategy by maintaining high standards at flagship properties, reinforcing the brand’s premium positioning and helping attract future management contracts in key markets.
Bill Mosher, CEO of the Denver Convention Center Hotel Authority, said the transformation “represents an important investment in one of our city’s most important downtown properties.”
General Manager Greg Leonard noted that the renovation “is more than a refresh; it’s a thoughtful reinvention of our guest experience,” adding that the new spaces reflect travelers’ desire for calm, comfort, a sense of place and a genuine connection to the local community.
By modernizing the property while keeping it operational, Hyatt has avoided revenue disruption and positioned the hotel to capture increased direct bookings and strengthen its competitive edge in Denver’s convention market.
