Hecla Mining shipped tailings from its Greens Creek mine to EnviroGold Global on April 21 2026, marking the next step in EnviroGold’s validation and demonstration campaigns for its proprietary NVRO Process™.

Greens Creek, one of the world’s largest low‑cost primary silver mines, produced 8.7 million ounces of silver and 59,349 ounces of gold in 2025. The tailings shipped to EnviroGold contain high‑grade silver, zinc, gold, and lead, offering a potentially lucrative source of additional metals.

EnviroGold’s NVRO Process has been validated by ANDRITZ and is designed to improve metal concentrate grades and recovery rates from mine waste. By applying this technology to Greens Creek tailings, Hecla aims to recover additional silver and other metals while reducing the environmental footprint of its waste streams.

Hecla’s decision to partner with EnviroGold aligns with its broader strategy of “value surfacing” initiatives. The company’s 2025 financial results—record revenue, strong net income, and a significant debt reduction—provide the financial flexibility to invest in such value‑adding projects.

The shipment is an early milestone in a planned series of validation and demonstration activities. Successful outcomes could lead to commercial-scale tailings reprocessing at Greens Creek, expanding Hecla’s silver output without new mine development and reinforcing its position as a leading North American silver producer.
