Harmonic has entered into a partnership with Alcom, a leading Finnish telecommunications operator, to supply its XOS Advanced Media Processor for a white‑label headend video service that will serve operators in Finland and Sweden.

The XOS processor consolidates playout, branding, and premium encoding into a single appliance. Its AI‑powered EyeQ content‑aware encoding can deliver up to 50 % bitrate savings while preserving video quality. Integration with Agile TV’s Origin and Media Server provides a scalable, software‑based playout‑to‑delivery solution.

The deal is a new revenue opportunity for Harmonic’s Video segment, but the segment is in the process of being sold to MediaKind for approximately $145 million, expected to close in the first half of 2026. The financial terms of the Alcom agreement were not disclosed, and the deployment timeline has not been announced.

"We chose Harmonic’s XOS media processor as the foundation for our Play+ white‑label IPTV architecture for its unparalleled performance and rich feature set, enabling us to deliver exceptional video quality. The software‑based playout‑to‑delivery solution ensures flexibility and scalability as we further expand our white‑label service across the region." – Patrik Pada, TV team leader at Alcom

"Alcom is strengthening its market position in the Nordic region with vast reach and promising growth opportunities. By combining our origin server expertise with Harmonic’s renowned video quality, we’re empowering Alcom to maximize revenue opportunities through its white‑label video service." – Koldo Unanue, CEO at Agile TV

"Alcom’s headend service is empowering regional operators in the Nordic market to differentiate their service by delivering crystal‑clear video experiences." – Tony Berthaud, senior vice president, sales, APAC and EMEA at Harmonic

"We ended the year with extremely strong quarterly bookings across our Broadband business… Furthermore, the Video business, presented as discontinued operations, exceeded both revenue and profitability expectations for the quarter. The planned sale of this business remains on track to close in the second quarter, which will further support our capital allocation priorities." – Nimrod Ben‑Natan, President and CEO of Harmonic

The partnership underscores Harmonic’s continued relevance in the white‑label video market, even as the company pivots to a pure‑play broadband model. By securing a high‑profile Nordic customer, Harmonic demonstrates that its advanced headend technology remains in demand, providing a bridge to the next phase of its business transformation.
