Honeywell International Inc. and Rhombus have announced a partnership that will bring an AI‑powered cloud security platform to market. The collaboration combines Honeywell’s access‑control portfolio with Rhombus’s cloud‑native video management and AI analytics, creating a single cloud platform that can be deployed, scaled, and managed from a single console.

The new platform will integrate access control and video management in one cloud‑based solution, allowing customers to monitor entry points and view real‑time video from a unified dashboard. Honeywell’s expertise in building automation and global reach will be paired with Rhombus’s modern cloud video capabilities and AI enhancements, giving customers a tool that can be offered through Honeywell’s channel partners and system‑integrator networks.

The partnership is positioned to meet the growing demand for cloud‑based security and video solutions. Omdia projects the cloud video segment to grow at more than 20% annually through 2029, making it the fastest‑growing segment in the security industry. By embedding Rhombus’s AI analytics directly into Honeywell’s access‑control platforms, the solution will turn video data into operational intelligence, providing insights beyond traditional surveillance.

The deal fits into Honeywell’s broader strategy to modernize building automation and expand its data‑center footprint. The Building Automation segment already benefits from strong pricing power and a growing data‑center market, and the partnership adds a high‑margin, recurring‑revenue stream that complements Honeywell’s existing offerings. The collaboration also follows Honeywell’s 2024 acquisition of LenelS2, reinforcing its focus on integrated security solutions.

"This strategic alliance combines the strength of Honeywell’s access solutions portfolio, domain expertise and global reach with modern cloud video capabilities and AI enhancements," said Billal Hammoud, President & CEO of Honeywell Building Automation. "Together, we will offer an integrated, cloud‑based solution that innovates while ensuring reliability and system resilience." Garrett Larsson, co‑founder and CEO of Rhombus, added, "At Rhombus, we’ve always believed the best physical security solutions are open platforms. By partnering with Honeywell, a company that shares our vision, we’ll be able to offer customers cutting‑edge solutions across video security, access control, sensors, building controls and more. With access to our complementary expertise and the deep AI capabilities of both organizations, customers will see immediate value from day one. We’re excited to work with Honeywell to make buildings more secure and intelligent."

The partnership does not yet have publicly disclosed financial impact figures, but it is expected to strengthen Honeywell’s competitive position against pure‑play security vendors and enhance its value proposition to enterprise customers seeking integrated, cloud‑based security solutions.
