Honeywell International Inc. announced a new digital services contract with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lekki, Nigeria, the world’s largest single‑train refinery. The agreement will deploy Honeywell’s Performance+ Services across several core processing units to boost fuel production, improve equipment reliability, and unlock greater asset value.

The deal includes operator training simulators built on digital twins of the refinery’s facilities, enabling staff to practice emergency scenarios and optimize process parameters. Honeywell’s Connected Solutions ecosystem will provide real‑time performance monitoring and predictive maintenance.

The partnership expands Honeywell’s footprint in the African refining market and adds a high‑visibility customer that underscores the company’s strategy to grow its process technology and digital services businesses. While the contract value and duration were not disclosed, the collaboration signals Honeywell’s continued focus on large‑scale industrial deployments.

The Dangote Refinery, with a planned capacity of 1.4 million barrels per day, is a key project for Nigeria’s energy independence. Honeywell’s involvement is expected to enhance operational efficiency and support the refinery’s goal of meeting domestic demand and becoming a regional export hub.

Analysts view the contract as a positive data point for Honeywell’s digital services segment, which has been a growth driver in recent earnings. The company’s Q4 2025 results showed strong earnings and a positive outlook for 2026, and the Dangote deal aligns with Honeywell’s broader strategy to expand in emerging markets and accelerate its digital transformation.
