Honeywell International Inc. completed the sale of its legacy avionics and power generator product lines to Innovative Aerosystems for a total of $30 million in cash, with the transaction closing on April 2, 2026.
The assets transferred include power generators and generator control units for Boeing 767 passenger and freighter aircraft, the KC‑46 aerial refueling tanker, and the F‑15 fighter platform, as well as legacy navigation and communication radios, autopilot systems, multifunction displays, and transponder technologies for Part 23 aircraft.
Honeywell’s divestiture aligns with its broader strategy to separate its aerospace and automation businesses into independent entities by the second half of 2026. By monetizing non‑core legacy assets, Honeywell can free capital to invest in AI‑enabled automation solutions and other high‑growth areas, reinforcing its transition to a pure‑play automation company.
For Innovative Aerosystems, the acquisition expands its product portfolio and strengthens its position as a trusted lifecycle partner for commercial and defense operators. The added capabilities in electrical power generation and legacy avionics sustainment enhance the company’s ability to provide long‑term engineering support, supply continuity, and modernization opportunities across a wide range of platforms.
"This transaction expands our capabilities in aircraft electrical power generation and reinforces our strategy to be a trusted lifecycle partner for both commercial transport and defense operators," said Shahram Askarpour, CEO of Innovative Aerosystems.
The deal is part of Honeywell’s ongoing portfolio optimization and signals a continued focus on high‑growth automation technologies. While the transaction does not impact Honeywell’s current earnings, it reflects a strategic shift that may influence investor expectations of the company’s future growth trajectory.
