New Horizon Aircraft Secures Wing Manufacturing Partnership with North Aircraft Industries

New Horizon Aircraft Ltd. (HOVR) announced a partnership with North Aircraft Industries to design, manufacture, and test the custom‑engineered wings for its Cavorite X7 hybrid‑electric vertical‑takeoff and landing aircraft. The agreement gives North the exclusive rights to produce the wings and to conduct flight‑test validation, positioning the two companies to accelerate the X7’s development schedule.

The Cavorite X7 is a 7‑seat regional eVTOL that combines a patented fan‑in‑wing system with hybrid‑electric propulsion. The wing design allows the aircraft to lift vertically and then close the wing covers for efficient forward flight. HOVR plans to assemble a full‑scale prototype in 2026 and conduct initial flight tests in early 2027, a timeline that the new partnership is intended to support.

The partnership is strategically significant for HOVR because it reduces lead times and brings cost control to a complex composite structure that is central to the X7’s performance. HOVR’s balance sheet shows more than $24 million in cash, but the company remains in an early‑stage development phase with negative earnings per share and no revenue growth. Securing a proven composite manufacturer is therefore a key step toward achieving the 2027 flight‑test milestone and moving toward certification and commercialization.

North Aircraft Industries, founded in 2018, brings in‑house capabilities for composite design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, structural testing, and systems integration. CEO Joost List said the partnership “aligns perfectly with our strengths in advanced composite structures and integrated aerospace component development” and that North’s expertise will help bring the X7 closer to flight.

Brandon Robinson, HOVR’s CEO, emphasized the importance of the wing partnership: “Building our proprietary wing demands an exceptional composite manufacturing team with deep experience in complex structures. North Aircraft Industries has the experience, skill, and agility to keep our production of the Cavorite X7 on track. We are proud to partner once again with a leading Canadian aerospace company that will play a critical role in completing the X7 and preparing it for testing in 2027.”
