Samsara Inc. has added International Motors, LLC to its Pre‑Delivery Installation (PDI) program, a move that will see new International trucks and IC Bus school buses equipped with Samsara devices at International’s Truck Specialty Centers and Custom Bus Center locations. The partnership eliminates weeks of post‑delivery downtime for fleet operators by installing and activating the Connected Operations platform at the factory, allowing customers to begin using the system from day one.

The expansion marks Samsara’s first entry into the heavy‑duty truck and school‑bus markets, creating a new channel for device installation and early customer engagement. By embedding its telematics hardware and software at the point of manufacture, Samsara can capture operational data from the first day of service, accelerate asset deployment, and generate recurring subscription revenue. The partnership also strengthens Samsara’s data moat by increasing the volume of operational data collected from a broader asset base.

Samsara’s PDI program launched in August 2025 with Daimler Truck North America LLC and Fontaine Modification. The company’s Q4 FY2025 revenue was $346.3 million, a 25% year‑over‑year increase, and its adjusted ARR was $1.46 billion, up 33% YoY. In Q1 FY2026, revenue rose to $366.9 million (31% YoY) and ARR to $1.535 billion (31% YoY). Gross margin was 78% in Q4 FY2025 and 79% in Q1 FY2026, underscoring the company’s strong pricing power and operational leverage.

Jeff Faulkner, SVP of Operations, said, "Fleet operators today are looking for every possible edge in efficiency. Since launching our PDI program less than a year ago, we've already seen a significant volume of pre‑installed products." He added, "Partnering with International scales this impact significantly. We are committed to making integrated, pre‑delivery telematics the industry standard, helping our customers move away from manual setups and toward a fully digitized, day one operation."

John Kenning, CEO and President of First Student, commented, "As the largest student transportation provider in the world with a fleet of nearly 49,000 vehicles, integrating AI‑enabled safety technology directly at the point of manufacture allows us to build a fully connected, safety‑first fleet from day one."
