iOThree Limited’s maritime cybersecurity platform, V.Secure, has been granted IACS UR E27 Type Approval by the international classification society RINA, confirming that the system meets the IACS technical cyber‑resilience requirements for computer‑based systems installed on board ships.

The approval covers a comprehensive set of security controls, including access control, malicious code protection, event logging, communications integrity, recovery support, and safe integration into a vessel’s wider architecture. It also validates V.Secure’s ability to detect and respond to cyber threats even when connectivity is intermittent, a key capability for modern maritime operations.

The maritime cybersecurity market is projected to grow from $3.19 billion in 2024 to $9.01 billion by 2033, a compound annual growth rate of 12.5%. IACS UR E26 and E27 requirements are mandatory for new ships contracted on or after July 1, 2024, making the approval a prerequisite for many new builds. By meeting these standards, V.Secure expands iOThree’s potential customer base and positions the company to capture a larger share of the market that must comply with IMO 2021 cyber‑risk management guidelines.

iOThree’s financials remain challenging, with an operating margin of –3.03% and a net margin of –3.16% as of January 20, 2026. The Type Approval is expected to drive commercial adoption and revenue growth, helping the company to offset its negative profitability and strengthen its competitive position in the digital maritime services space.

CTO Darryl See said the approval validates V.Secure’s robust cyber‑resilience capabilities and will help shipowners meet regulatory requirements. RINA’s Yong Song Pang noted that the certification demonstrates V.Secure’s compliance with IACS standards and its readiness for deployment on new builds.

The Type Approval marks a significant milestone for iOThree, potentially unlocking new revenue streams and reinforcing its strategy to deliver integrated digital services to shipowners while signaling the company’s commitment to meeting evolving maritime cyber regulations.
