Innovative Aerosystems announced the acquisition of an exclusive perpetual license from Honeywell International Inc. for its power generator systems, paying $8 million for the generator and Generator Control Unit assets and associated intellectual property, parts, customer contracts, and OEM and aftermarket production and repair rights.
The deal gives ISSC ownership of unique parts and program assets tied to Honeywell’s power generators, broadening the company’s electrical‑power and sustainment capabilities for both military and commercial aircraft. The acquisition positions ISSC to support legacy platforms such as the Boeing 767, KC‑46 tanker, and F‑15 fighter, and to offer a more comprehensive suite of power‑generation solutions in retrofit and new‑build markets.
Honeywell is divesting non‑core aerospace assets as it prepares to spin off its aerospace division—currently generating roughly $15 billion in revenue—into a standalone company later in 2026. The sale aligns with Honeywell’s strategy to streamline operations while ISSC capitalizes on growing demand for aircraft power‑generation systems.
CEO Shahram Askarpour said the transaction “expands our capabilities in aircraft electrical power generation and reinforces our strategy to be a trusted lifecycle partner for both commercial transport and defense operators.” He added that the new assets will enhance support responsiveness and enable future modernization opportunities.
The acquisition follows a prior October 2024 deal in which ISSC secured a license for Honeywell’s military display generators and flight‑control computers, underscoring a developing partnership that strengthens ISSC’s competitive position in the aftermarket and sustainment services market.
