Kadant Inc. completed its acquisition of voestalpine BÖHLER Profil GmbH & Co KG and its VerwaltungsGmbH on April 30 2026, paying approximately €157 million in cash. The purchase was financed primarily through borrowings under Kadant’s revolving credit facility, adding a modest amount of debt to the company’s balance sheet.

The target, founded in 1872, is a specialist in customized rolled profiles and industrial knife solutions. Its near‑net‑shape rolling technology and advanced materials expertise complement Kadant’s Industrial Processing segment, expanding the company’s product portfolio and strengthening its position in high‑quality profile manufacturing. Kadant and voestalpine BÖHLER Profil have been valued supply partners for more than 30 years, giving the buyer deep familiarity with the target’s capabilities.

Kadant’s recent quarterly results—strong revenue growth and earnings that beat analyst expectations—provide a solid financial backdrop for the deal. The acquisition is expected to add both revenue and margin potential, reinforcing Kadant’s strategy of complementary acquisitions to accelerate growth in its core industrial markets.

"voestalpine BÖHLER Profil's expertise and product range complement Kadant's offerings and strengthen our ability to serve customers in demanding industrial markets. For more than three decades, voestalpine BÖHLER Profil has been a valued supply partner to several Kadant businesses, giving us deep familiarity with their capabilities. We believe their strong leadership team and operational excellence make the business a strategic addition to our organization," said Kadant President and CEO Jeffrey L. Powell. "We are delighted to welcome our colleagues in Bruckbach to the Kadant family. Kadant Profil has been a trusted supplier to Kadant for over 30 years, and we value the strong operational discipline and creative solutions it brings to its customers. Its capabilities and manufacturing expertise align with our strategic priorities and further reinforce our commitment to delivering innovative industrial technologies."

"We have known and worked with Kadant for over 30 years, and their deep industrial processing knowledge, global presence, and comprehensive portfolio of solutions align with voestalpine BÖHLER Profil's long‑term goals. We look forward to the opportunities that being a part of Kadant will offer our team and customers," said Jörg Wagner, Managing Director of voestalpine BÖHLER Profil. "We see Kadant as an ideal home for our business. Joining Kadant expands our access to new markets and strengthens our ability to innovate and grow our capabilities. We look forward to deeper collaboration with Kadant as we expand into new markets and continue delivering the high‑performance solutions our customers expect."

The acquisition expands Kadant’s Industrial Processing platform, adding near‑net‑shape rolling and advanced materials capabilities that are expected to drive future growth. While the deal increases debt, the company’s strong cash flow and recent earnings performance provide a solid foundation for financing the transaction and supporting ongoing investment in its expanded product line.
