KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions (MTS) division has secured a $200 million recompete contract to modernize the United States’ transportation infrastructure. The award, a five‑year blanket purchase agreement issued through the U.S. General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule, will provide engineering services, artificial‑intelligence and machine‑learning solutions, modern web frameworks, modeling and simulation techniques, and big‑data analytics across all modes of transportation.

The contract, known as the Transportation, Technology & Engineering Mission Solutions (TTEMS), covers the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Highway Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and other Department of Transportation agencies. KBR will deliver AI‑powered critical technologies from its Cambridge, Massachusetts headquarters and additional global sites, reinforcing its long‑standing partnership with the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center.

This win aligns with KBR’s strategic pivot toward higher‑value, technology‑enabled work and supports the company’s planned spin‑off of the MTS segment in the second half of 2026. The $200 million ceiling value over five years adds a substantial revenue stream to MTS and strengthens KBR’s backlog, which stood at $23.2 billion in 2025, up from $11.1 billion in bookings and options.

KBR’s recent financial performance provides context for the significance of the contract. In Q4 2025, the company reported $1.9 billion in revenue and $238 million in adjusted EBITDA, while full‑year 2025 revenue reached $7.8 billion with $968 million in adjusted EBITDA. The contract’s value represents a meaningful addition to the MTS division’s top line and margin profile, supporting the company’s broader goal of margin expansion amid a challenging revenue environment.

Todd May, Senior Vice President of Mission Technology Solutions, said, “TTEMS reflects KBR’s long‑standing partnership with the Volpe Center and our shared commitment to keeping people and goods moving safely and efficiently. We deliver AI‑powered critical technologies and engineering expertise faster, helping customers enhance infrastructure and respond rapidly to evolving transportation challenges.”

The contract’s alignment with federal priorities for AI and advanced analytics positions KBR to capture growing demand for technology‑driven transportation solutions, while the partnership with the Volpe Center underscores the company’s credibility and track record in this space.
