Keysight Technologies announced the creation of a Joint Innovation Laboratory for Charging Test Technology with the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) New Energy Vehicle Inspection Center on May 5 2026. The laboratory will focus on developing advanced charging test solutions and standards, enabling automotive manufacturers to validate charging performance and safety more efficiently.
The partnership aligns with Keysight’s broader strategy to diversify its testing portfolio beyond communications and industrial solutions into the rapidly scaling NEV market. CATARC brings industry reach and leadership in domestic standards, testing, and certification, while Keysight contributes deep physics expertise and a portfolio of automotive solutions that includes EV battery testing, charging infrastructure validation, automotive Ethernet, and cybersecurity.
The joint lab is expected to create a new revenue stream for Keysight and strengthen its competitive edge in the emerging NEV ecosystem. By accelerating innovation in charging test solutions and standards, the laboratory will help automotive manufacturers meet the increasing complexity of NEV charging standards, safety requirements, and interoperability across regional markets.
Keysight’s Q1 2026 results underscore the company’s momentum: revenue reached $1.60 billion, up 23.3% year‑over‑year, and earnings per share of $2.17 beat the consensus estimate of $2.00. The company guided for Q2 2026 revenue of $1.69 billion to $1.71 billion, well above the consensus of $1.51 billion, reflecting confidence in continued demand and effective cost control.
Satish Dhanasekaran, Keysight’s President and CEO, said, "Keysight had a strong start to the fiscal year with outstanding results that exceeded our expectations. The investments we have made over the last 3 years are enabling us to capitalize on continued momentum in our markets and deliver value." Thomas Goetzl, Vice President and General Manager of Automotive & Energy Solutions, added, "Keysight is committed to advancing electrification through innovation and global collaboration and aims to help shape the future of charging test technologies and industry standards worldwide."
The collaboration positions Keysight to capture growth in the NEV market, supports its goal of expanding software‑centric and recurring revenue models, and enhances its market presence in China. As the global NEV market scales, the joint laboratory will play a critical role in meeting the demand for advanced testing and validation solutions, reinforcing Keysight’s leadership in the automotive testing segment.
