Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced that Airbus Defence and Space has awarded the company a multi‑million‑dollar contract to deliver a ground segment for OmanSat‑1, Oman's first national satellite built on Airbus’s OneSat platform.
The ground segment will provide an integrated Ka‑band telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) antenna system, carrier‑monitoring software, and an orchestration platform that allows the satellite operator to re‑configure payloads and manage spectrum usage automatically, supporting the satellite’s software‑defined capabilities.
This contract expands Kratos’s satellite ground‑system portfolio and complements its existing microwave and space‑systems businesses. By adding a new revenue stream in the growing software‑defined satellite market, Kratos strengthens its position as a vertically integrated provider of end‑to‑end solutions for commercial and national satellite operators.
The award aligns with Oman’s National Space Policy 2023‑2033, which seeks to enhance digital sovereignty and build national satellite capabilities. It also builds on Kratos’s prior collaboration with Airbus on OneSat programs, positioning the company to pursue additional ground‑segment contracts in the region and beyond.
