Lakeland Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: LAKE) completed the NFPA 1970:2025 certification process for a broad range of firefighter protective equipment, including gloves, hoods, helmets, structural turnout gear, and proximity gear, on March 23 2026.

The certification covers the company’s Veridian gloves, Pacific Helmets, and other product lines, completing a head‑to‑toe portfolio that meets the latest safety requirements for structural and proximity firefighting gear, work apparel, SCBA, and PASS devices.

By achieving full compliance with the consolidated NFPA 1970:2025 standard, Lakeland can now offer fire departments and first‑responder agencies a single, certified product line that satisfies the mandatory particulate‑blocking hood, helmet cleaning, and labeling requirements introduced in the new standard, potentially expanding its market share in the public‑sector PPE market.

The move follows earlier certifications for the Ultimate Glow+ Leather Firefighting Gloves in January and Veridian Structural Firefighting Boots in February, underscoring the company’s strategic push to deliver a complete, certified lineup. Jim Jenkins, President and CEO, said, "After achieving NFPA 1970:2025 certification for our Ultimate Glow+ Leather Firefighting Gloves‑NFPA 321 Series in January, these additional certifications highlight our ability to innovate rapidly while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety, and now allow our customers the ability to order NFPA 1970:2025 certified gear across our entire brand portfolio."

The certification milestone comes amid ongoing securities class‑action litigation that alleges misstatements about the integration of Pacific Helmets and other acquisitions, as well as recent earnings misses and withdrawn guidance for FY 2026, which have weighed on investor confidence. These legal and financial headwinds suggest that while the certification strengthens Lakeland’s product offering, the company still faces significant operational and regulatory challenges.

Lakeland plans to showcase the newly certified gear at the FDIC 2026 trade show in Indianapolis from April 20‑25, 2026, where it will highlight gear designed to meet the latest NFPA 1970 turnout gear standards. Jim Jenkins added, "As we continue to advance the certification pipeline covering our head‑to‑toe product offering, we are setting a new benchmark for performance and protection and reinforcing our position as a leader in firefighter PPE innovation."
