Lockheed Martin secured a 10‑year, indefinite‑delivery, indefinite‑quantity contract worth up to $1.9 billion to continue the C‑130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System (MATS) program. The award expands the company’s support for the U.S. Air Force’s C‑130J fleet and adds coverage for the Navy Reserve and Coast Guard, while also covering the U.S. Air Mobility Command, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force Special Operations Command, and Air Education and Training Command.

The contract provides training devices, courseware, engineering services, operations, interim and contractor logistics support, and is the fourth iteration of the MATS program (MATS IV). It delivers a predictable, long‑term revenue stream for Lockheed Martin and reinforces the company’s role as a key sustainment partner for the U.S. military.

The award underscores Lockheed Martin’s long‑standing relationship with the Department of Defense and signals a broader DoD strategy to standardize training across services. By extending support to the Navy Reserve and Coast Guard, the contract opens potential future opportunities for Lockheed Martin to expand its training solutions beyond the Air Force. The 10‑year duration and $1.9 billion ceiling provide a stable, high‑value contract that can serve as a bridge to next‑generation training systems.

The C‑130J Super Hercules fleet, which has delivered more than 560 aircraft and accumulated over 3 million flight hours, is operated by 28 nations worldwide. The MATS contract aligns with the current surge in global defense spending and the U.S. military’s focus on heightened alertness, positioning Lockheed Martin to support a critical component of U.S. airlift capability.

"This contract award continues the nearly 30‑year C‑130J franchise and reflects the strong relationship and collaboration between the U.S. Government, Lockheed Martin and our industry partners," said Todd Morar, vice president of Air and Commercial Solutions at Lockheed Martin. "This latest contract reaffirms the critical importance of the C‑130J MATS program in providing 21st Century Security solutions that support the mission readiness of C‑130J operational units across the U.S. military."
