LiveOne (NASDAQ: LVO) and its subsidiary PodcastOne (NASDAQ: PODC) announced that Craig Christensen, CPA, will serve as interim Chief Financial Officer for both companies, a move aimed at accelerating B2B and AI initiatives while strengthening financial governance during a critical growth phase.
Christensen brings 25 years of finance experience, including senior roles in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting. He has supported 20 M&A transactions and was involved in a $122 million public equity offering. His background also includes a tenure at Halliburton Company subsidiaries and a degree from Brigham Young University, positioning him to oversee the execution of the companies’ financial strategy and to manage cash flow, capital structure, and investment decisions as they pursue a leaner, AI‑driven business model.
The appointment signals a focus on financial excellence and operational scaling. By placing an experienced CFO in charge of the acquisition pipeline and B2B expansion, LiveOne and PodcastOne aim to secure the capital and governance framework needed to support AI‑driven cost savings and new revenue streams. The interim role also reflects the companies’ intent to tighten financial oversight as they navigate a period of rapid scaling and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
Prior to Christensen’s appointment, the companies had a vacancy in the CFO position, indicating a transition that required an interim leader. LiveOne has been reducing costs through staff cuts and AI‑driven efficiencies, while PodcastOne has reported record revenues and positive adjusted EBITDA but has faced operating losses in some periods. The new CFO will need to balance these dynamics, ensuring that the companies maintain a strong balance sheet while pursuing growth opportunities.
"Craig is a proven operator with deep capital markets and M&A experience. As we scale each company's acquisition pipeline and expand their B2B and AI initiatives, his leadership will be critical to executing our next phase of growth," said Robert Ellin, Chairman and CEO of LiveOne and Executive Chairman of PodcastOne.
The appointment positions LiveOne and PodcastOne to better manage financial risk, accelerate strategic acquisitions, and support the expansion of AI and B2B initiatives. With Christensen’s expertise, the companies are poised to strengthen governance, improve capital allocation, and drive sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving media and technology landscape.
