Micropolis AI Robotics announced a memorandum of understanding with the UAE’s EDGE Group, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and SteerAI to design, manufacture and pilot an Autonomous Logistics Platform (ALP). The agreement establishes a framework for producing the platform and testing it in EDGE’s industrial zones, marking the first time Micropolis will industrialize its autonomous vehicle technology at scale.

The partnership gives Micropolis access to sovereign manufacturing capacity and a proven industrial customer base, enabling the company to move beyond its legacy security and surveillance markets. By leveraging EDGE’s production facilities, TII’s advanced AI analytics and SteerAI’s fleet‑management software, Micropolis can deliver a fully integrated solution that couples custom unmanned ground vehicles with real‑time navigation, digital twins and enterprise‑level integration. The move aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to build domestic capabilities in autonomous systems and positions Micropolis to capture a growing demand for automated material handling in manufacturing and logistics.

Micropolis’s ALP will automate material movement within and between factories, a capability that is critical to the UAE’s industrial ambitions. The platform’s pilot will run in EDGE’s industrial areas, where the company will test end‑to‑end operations, from vehicle deployment to data analytics. The collaboration also signals a strategic pivot for Micropolis, which recently completed an IPO in March 2025 and rebranded from Micropolis Robotics to Micropolis AI Robotics in December 2025. The MoU therefore represents a significant expansion of the company’s product portfolio and a new revenue stream in a high‑growth market.

CEO Fareed Aljawhari said the partnership “underscores Micropolis’ commitment to delivering autonomous solutions for today’s complex operations.” He added that the ALP will not only automate material movement but also provide situational awareness, enabling manufacturers to operate smarter, safer and more efficiently. Bader Al Jaberi, Vice President for Industrialisation Technologies at EDGE, noted that the MoU “marks a significant step forward in our mission to build sovereign, end‑to‑end autonomous capabilities, from advanced research to industrial‑scale manufacturing.”

The agreement is expected to accelerate Micropolis’s transition into industrial logistics, a sector that is projected to grow as the UAE pushes for greater manufacturing self‑sufficiency. By combining Micropolis’s vehicle hardware with TII’s AI and SteerAI’s software, the company can offer a differentiated, end‑to‑end solution that meets the stringent safety and reliability requirements of industrial operations. The partnership also positions Micropolis to capture a share of the UAE’s $10 billion industrial automation market, providing a clear path to scale its autonomous platform beyond its traditional markets.
