Pediatrix Expands Maternal Health Services in Tennessee Through New Partnership

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. announced a partnership with Tennessee Maternal‑Fetal Medicine to broaden its maternal health services across Tennessee. The collaboration will allow Pediatrix to provide its hospital‑based physician services to more hospitals and birthing centers in the state, extending the company’s reach beyond its existing footprint.

Tennessee Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, operating as Maternal‑Fetal Medicine Specialists of Tennessee, serves patients at five locations in the Greater Nashville area and includes four board‑certified physicians and six advanced practice providers. The deal is a cash transaction expected to be immediately accretive to earnings.

The partnership aligns with Pediatrix’s focus on high‑acuity, hospital‑based care. By adding Tennessee to its network, the company can leverage its BabySteps clinical decision‑support platform and its extensive neonatal data warehouse to deliver advanced maternal‑fetal care in a new market.

In its Q4 2025 earnings, Pediatrix reported revenue of $494 million, beating the $486.23 million consensus estimate, while earnings per share fell to $0.50 versus the $0.54 estimate, a miss of 7.41 percent. The miss was attributed to an increase in variable practice incentive compensation, offsetting the revenue gain. The company’s net income for 2025 was $165.4 million, a turnaround from the $99.1 million loss in 2024.

For 2026, Pediatrix is projecting adjusted EBITDA of $280 million to $300 million, up from $275.6 million in 2025, and revenue flat at approximately $1.9 billion. The guidance reflects confidence in maintaining profitability while navigating industry headwinds.

CEO Mark S. Ordan said, "Our fourth quarter operating results were in line with our revised upward expectations and reflected solid same‑unit revenue growth, partially offset by an increase in variable practice incentive compensation. Our performance in the fourth quarter caps a terrific year, and while facing healthcare industry headwinds, we are doing all we can to have another strong year at Pediatrix and to position ourselves for a strong future." Dr. Connie Graves, practice leader of Tennessee Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, added, "The group joined Pediatrix 'in order to have a larger footprint to improve quality and outcomes in MFM care, not just in Tennessee, but throughout the United States."

The partnership expands Pediatrix’s reach into a state with growing demand for specialized maternal care, positioning the company to capture new revenue streams and strengthen its competitive standing. The immediate accretive nature of the deal, combined with the company’s data‑driven platform, is expected to enhance care quality and operational efficiency across its expanded network.
