Medtronic announced a partnership with Mindray to embed its patient‑monitoring technology into Mindray’s ambulatory surgery center (ASC) platforms, expanding Medtronic’s presence in the growing ASC market.

The collaboration will allow Medtronic’s monitoring devices—such as Microstream capnography, BIS brain monitoring, Nellcor pulse oximetry, and INVOS regional oximetry—to be integrated into Mindray’s ASC solutions, giving clinicians a comprehensive monitoring suite in outpatient settings.

The partnership builds on Medtronic’s recent CE Mark approval of its Affera Sphere‑360 pulsed‑field ablation catheter, underscoring the company’s push to bring advanced therapies to ambulatory sites. Medtronic CEO Geoff Martha has highlighted the ASC market as a key growth area, noting that procedures are increasingly moving to outpatient sites.

In 2024, ASCs generated $7.5 billion in Medicare fee‑for‑service revenue for 3.4 million beneficiaries, reflecting the sector’s rapid expansion. By integrating its monitoring technology, Medtronic aims to capture a larger share of this ecosystem and create cross‑sell opportunities for its broader product portfolio.

Mindray North America President Wayne Quinn said the partnership would “deliver the same level of advanced monitoring and clinical insight that hospitals rely on, helping ASCs provide exceptional care with efficiency and confidence.” Medtronic Vice President Blake Tatum added that the integration would “make advanced monitoring easier to adopt in ASCs so that clinicians can focus on what matters most: the patient in front of them.”

While financial terms were not disclosed, the deal signals Medtronic’s intent to deepen its footprint in high‑growth outpatient surgery markets and diversify beyond traditional inpatient devices, positioning the company for incremental sales and recurring revenue in the ASC space.
