Momentus received $1.9 million in payments in January 2026 for contracts with NASA and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory’s SpaceWERX organization. The payments cover deliverables accepted under task orders to demonstrate on‑orbit the Commercial Orbital System for Microgravity In‑Space Crystallization (COSMIC) technology and the Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine, as well as a low‑cost RPO sensor suite and a CisLunar PPU for the Vigoride 7 Orbital Service Vehicle.

The cash inflow supports the company’s next flight milestone, the Vigoride 7 launch on SpaceX’s Transporter‑16 mission scheduled for no earlier than March 2026, and strengthens Momentum’s position to secure additional government contracts.

CEO John Rood said the payments “are clear indicators of continued progress in support of critical programs that have the potential to make new ways of operating and manufacturing in space possible. We’re proud of the continued confidence that these important U.S. government customers have shown in Momentus and our technology and manufacturing capabilities to support some of their cutting‑edge efforts.”

The COSMIC technology and Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine are slated for a 2027 mission launch, underscoring the long‑term trajectory of the company’s technology portfolio.
