Modine announced its participation in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Plants program, a national partnership that equips industrial firms with tools, benchmarks, and reporting frameworks to reduce energy use, water consumption, and waste. The company has committed to setting measurable energy‑intensity targets and to publicly reporting progress, thereby aligning its operations with the DOE’s sustainability agenda.

The partnership dovetails with Modine’s climate‑solutions strategy, which focuses on high‑growth, low‑carbon data‑center cooling. Modine’s 2025 sustainability report documents continued progress in emissions reduction, water usage, and waste management, and the company’s data‑center business grew 119% in fiscal 2025, underscoring the sector’s importance to Modine’s growth trajectory.

Modine earned a B score for Climate Change and a B for Water Security in the 2025 CDP survey, and received a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis. These recognitions highlight the company’s commitment to reducing its own environmental footprint while helping customers achieve similar goals.

The Better Plants program has already saved participants over 28 quadrillion British thermal units and more than $14 billion in energy costs as of 2024. By joining, Modine expects to accelerate its energy‑efficiency gains, lower operating costs, and strengthen its competitive position in the AI data‑center cooling market.

Mark W. Johnson, Vice President of Technology & Innovation, Data Centers, said the partnership “demonstrates our commitment to engineering a cleaner, healthier world.” Modine’s 80/20 principles and its recent acquisition of Scott Springfield Manufacturing further support its expansion in the data‑center sector.
