Motorola Solutions announced the acquisition of HyperYou, a company that builds conversational, agentic artificial intelligence designed to reduce the burden on understaffed public‑safety answering points (PSAPs). The deal expands Motorola’s use of agentic AI across its Command Center portfolio and its mission‑critical AI platform, Assist, enabling the company to deploy specialized AI agents that understand the context of non‑emergency calls and automate routine tasks for PSAP operators.

HyperYou’s technology can handle up to 75 % of non‑emergency 911 calls, using natural‑language conversational AI to provide empathetic interactions and to integrate seamlessly with existing call‑handling systems. The acquisition is part of Motorola’s broader strategy to bundle hardware, software, and AI into a single, high‑margin solution for public‑safety agencies, and it addresses the widespread staffing challenge that leaves many PSAPs operating at only 75 % capacity while non‑emergency calls make up more than two‑thirds of total volume.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition follows a series of strategic purchases by Motorola, including four acquisitions in 2025 totaling $4.9 billion, such as the $4.4 billion purchase of Silvus Technologies. By adding HyperYou’s platform, Motorola aims to enhance its AI‑driven workflow automation, improve PSAP operator productivity, and further differentiate its integrated safety and security platform in a competitive market.

Greg Brown, Chairman and CEO, said, "Our outstanding 2025 performance demonstrates the resilience and strength of our business. We had record sales, earnings and cash flow. Our record backlog and strong demand gives us continued momentum for another excellent year." The acquisition reinforces the company’s human‑centered AI approach, which seeks to augment rather than replace human judgment in public‑safety operations.

The deal positions Motorola to capture a growing demand for AI‑enabled public‑safety solutions, strengthens its Assist platform, and expands its footprint in the PSAP market. By automating routine non‑emergency calls, the company can help PSAPs allocate limited resources to critical emergencies, thereby improving overall public‑safety outcomes.
