Motorola Solutions Unveils CommandCentral RMS, a Cloud‑Native Records and Case Management Platform

Motorola Solutions announced the launch of CommandCentral RMS, a cloud‑native records and case management solution that unifies evidence, CAD data, radio and 911 audio, video, field notes, and witness statements into a single view. The platform is designed to accelerate reporting and case closures for public‑safety agencies by providing investigators with verified reports, searchable transcripts, and redacted documents in a streamlined workflow.

CommandCentral RMS is powered by Motorola’s mission‑critical AI, Assist, which automates routine tasks such as report writing and document redaction. In a pilot with a law‑enforcement agency, Assist cut redaction time from 35 hours to one hour, freeing officers to focus on community engagement and investigative analysis.

The launch will be showcased at Motorola Solutions’ Summit 2026 in Orlando, scheduled for April 19‑23, 2026. The company will demonstrate the platform’s capabilities and its integration with the broader Command Central suite, highlighting how the new offering expands MSI’s software and services mix and reinforces its strategy of bundling hardware, software, and AI into a high‑margin ecosystem.

Todd Piett, senior vice president of Command Center and Cloud Solutions, said, “We designed CommandCentral RMS to be a foundational platform, powered by Assist, to accelerate investigations. Unifying records and automating time‑intensive case‑management processes helps agencies resolve cases faster and bring justice to more families sooner.”

Mahesh Saptharishi, executive vice president and chief technology officer, added, “An officer’s police report is an extension of their word, and documenting a complete, accurate account is paramount to building trust. Assisted Narrative is designed differently from other report‑writing tools. It’s built to save time, preserve officer memory, cross‑check multiple sources of data for accuracy and maintain clear accountability.”

Market reaction to the announcement was muted; shares remained relatively flat and slightly underperformed the broader market and the public‑safety technology sector. The modest response reflects the market’s focus on broader macro conditions rather than the specific product launch.

CommandCentral RMS represents a strategic pivot toward a higher‑margin software and services model, positioning Motorola Solutions to capture recurring revenue from AI‑enabled public‑safety solutions while maintaining its legacy hardware business. The platform’s integration of AI, cloud, and data consolidation aligns with industry trends toward unified, data‑driven operations and strengthens Motorola’s competitive stance against rivals such as Axon, NICE, and Hexagon.
