Materialise NV announced that it will transfer its RapidFit 3D‑printed jigs, fixtures and quality‑control solutions business to its management team, creating an independent company under the RapidFit name. The transfer is expected to close around April 30 2026, allowing RapidFit to operate with greater focus and flexibility while Materialise concentrates resources on its high‑growth medical and software segments.

The move reflects Materialise’s strategy to streamline its portfolio after a year in which the Medical segment grew 15.4% YoY to €267.6 million in total revenue, while the Manufacturing segment—where RapidFit is positioned—experienced lower revenues. By spinning off RapidFit, Materialise frees capital and management attention for its stronger, higher‑margin businesses, positioning the company for continued growth in the medical and software markets.

RapidFit specializes in custom 3D‑printed jigs, fixtures and quality‑control solutions for the automotive and manufacturing sectors. Jurgen Laudus, Vice President of Materialise Manufacturing, said, "For RapidFit, operating as an independent company provides greater focus and flexibility. A standalone setup allows the business to make decisions closer to its customers and markets, build on its core strengths, and pursue partnerships and investments that best support global growth." The independence is expected to accelerate RapidFit’s ability to respond to customer needs and pursue strategic collaborations.

The transfer will not affect existing customer orders or ongoing projects, and the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The expected closing date of April 30 2026 marks the formal separation of RapidFit from Materialise’s core operations.
