NXT Energy Solutions announced a new Stress Field Detection (SFD) survey contract with an independent oil and gas exploration company in South Asia. The agreement marks the company’s first confirmed project outside its traditional frontier basins and will deploy its proprietary airborne SFD technology to evaluate potential drilling sites across the region.

The contract, signed on April 8, 2026, will see NXT conduct data acquisition in the third quarter of 2026, with interpretation and recommendations slated for the fourth quarter. While the contract value is confidential, the deal is expected to add to the company’s growing revenue stream.

The contract comes as NXT reported a 2,437% jump in revenue to $16.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2025, up from $0.6 million in 2024. The company completed three SFD surveys in 2025 and acquired full ownership of the SFD technology in December 2025, positioning it to expand into new markets.

CEO Bruce G. Wilcox described 2025 as a "transformational year" and emphasized the company’s secure financial position, which now allows it to pursue geographic expansion. The South Asian market has shown growing interest in cost‑effective exploration tools, aligning with NXT’s strategy to broaden its client base beyond Mexico, Bolivia, and Pakistan.

The new contract underscores NXT’s strategy to build a global portfolio of SFD surveys and to generate additional revenue through data resale and potential royalties. By entering South Asia, the company aims to demonstrate the technology’s versatility in diverse geological settings and to create a case study that could drive future contracts in the region.
