NVIDIA Corporation announced a $2 billion investment in Marvell Technology, creating a strategic partnership that will integrate Marvell’s custom XPUs and high‑speed networking into NVIDIA’s NVLink Fusion and AI‑RAN platforms. The deal gives Marvell access to NVIDIA’s CUDA software, Mellanox networking, and AI‑factory reference designs, while NVIDIA gains a foothold in Marvell’s silicon photonics and telecom‑networking expertise.

The partnership will combine Marvell’s custom silicon and optical interconnect solutions with NVIDIA’s Vera CPUs, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs, NVLink interconnects, and Spectrum‑X switches. Together, the companies will focus on silicon photonics and high‑bandwidth telecom networking, accelerating the deployment of AI data centers and 5G/6G networks and opening new revenue streams for NVIDIA beyond GPU sales.

For NVIDIA, the investment deepens its ecosystem moat and positions the company to capture a larger share of the projected $3–4 trillion annual AI infrastructure market by the end of the decade. The collaboration also helps NVIDIA compete with hyperscalers that are developing their own custom AI processors, reinforcing its strategy to lead the full‑stack AI infrastructure stack.

For Marvell, the partnership validates its pivot to AI infrastructure and custom silicon, positioning the company as a key “plumbing” provider for next‑generation AI data centers. The deal gives Marvell a strategic partner that can accelerate the adoption of its high‑performance analog, optical DSP, silicon photonics, and custom silicon technologies within NVIDIA’s expanding AI ecosystem.

Investors welcomed the announcement, with analysts noting the strategic fit and potential for growth in both companies’ AI infrastructure businesses.

"The inference inflection has arrived. Token generation demand is surging, and the world is racing to build AI factories. Together with Marvell, we are enabling customers to leverage NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure ecosystem and scale to build specialized AI compute," said Jensen Huang, NVIDIA CEO. "By connecting Marvell’s leadership in high‑performance analog, optical DSP, silicon photonics and custom silicon to NVIDIA’s expanding AI ecosystem through NVLink Fusion, we are enabling customers to build scalable, efficient AI infrastructure," added Matt Murphy, Marvell CEO.
