Okta announced the launch of ‘Okta for AI Agents’ on March 16 2026 as part of its Secure Agentic Enterprise Blueprint. The solution will be generally available on April 30 2026 and is designed to help organizations discover, register, and secure AI agents that operate across cloud, on‑premises, and edge environments.

The platform bundles token vaults, asynchronous authorization, fine‑grained access controls, and shadow‑AI discovery. It expands Universal Directory to support non‑human identities and integrates with partners such as Boomi, DataRobot, and Google Vertex AI, giving enterprises a single point of control for machine‑to‑machine interactions.

Okta estimates the non‑human identity market to be 5‑10× larger than its current identity governance segment, underscoring a significant growth opportunity. By addressing the security needs of autonomous agents, the product positions Okta to capture a new, rapidly expanding revenue stream while reinforcing its cloud‑native identity security fabric.

Ric Smith, President of Products & Technology, said, “AI agents are evolving faster than any software before them, making traditional security models obsolete. Speed is now a given, but security is the differentiator.” He added that the blueprint will enable companies to discover shadow agents, secure connection points, and maintain a ‘kill switch’ to protect against evolving risks.

Analysts have noted the launch as a key driver of Okta’s future growth. BMO Capital Markets upgraded the company, citing demand for AI identity security, and Jefferies’ Gallo highlighted the expansion as a major boost to Okta’s total addressable market.

The product launch signals Okta’s strategic pivot beyond workforce identity, aligning with its broader goal of securing all forms of digital identity. By monetizing AI‑agent security, Okta is poised to accelerate revenue growth in its customer identity and governance businesses and to strengthen its competitive position against rivals such as Microsoft Entra ID and Ping Identity.
