Universal Display Corporation announced that it has extended its long‑term OLED material supply and license agreements with LG Display Co. Ltd., a principal customer and partner in the OLED market. The extension confirms that UDC will continue to supply its UniversalPHOLED® materials and support LG Display’s OLED product roadmap through UDC’s subsidiary, UDC Ireland Limited.
The two‑decade partnership began in January 2015 and includes earlier agreements dating back to 2007. The latest extension builds on a 2021 five‑year renewal and a 2022 agreement that ran through December 31, 2022. While the financial terms of the new extension are not disclosed, the continuation of the supply and licensing relationship underscores UDC’s position as a critical materials provider for one of the world’s largest OLED panel manufacturers.
UDC’s UniversalPHOLED® phosphorescent emitter technology remains a key driver of energy‑efficient OLED displays. LG Display’s recent breakthrough in commercializing blue phosphorescent OLED panels—an area where UDC has partnered closely—highlights the strategic importance of this partnership for advancing “dream OLEDs” that use phosphorescence for all three primary colors.
In its most recent earnings release, UDC reported record fourth‑quarter revenue of $172.9 million, up from $162.3 million in Q4 2024, and net income of $66.3 million, or $1.39 per diluted share, compared with $46.0 million and $0.96 in the prior year. Full‑year 2025 revenue totaled $650.6 million, and net income was $242.1 million, or $5.08 per diluted share. Management guided for 2026 revenue in the range of $650 million to $700 million, a range that reflects confidence in continued demand for OLED materials and the stability of the UDC–LG Display relationship.
President and CEO Steven Abramson said, “We are pleased to report record 2025 revenue of $651 million. Operating income was $249 million and net income was $242 million or $5.08 per diluted share. These results reflect strong execution across the business and the continued expansion of OLED adoption throughout the industry.” CFO Brian Millard added, “The Company believes that its 2026 revenue will be in the range of $650 million to $700 million. The OLED industry remains at a stage where many variables can have a material impact on results, and the Company thus caveats its financial guidance accordingly.”
The announcement was noted by market participants, with analysts highlighting the continued partnership as a positive sign for UDC’s growth prospects and its ability to secure long‑term supply contracts with a leading OLED panel manufacturer.
