Oracle announced that it will expand its multicloud networking capabilities by partnering with Amazon Web Services to provide a private, high‑speed link between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS. The new interconnect will be available later in 2026 in the AWS US East (N. Virginia) region and will allow Oracle Autonomous Database and Exadata workloads to run in AWS while pulling OCI services, eliminating the need to traverse the public internet and reducing latency for customers.
Oracle already operates private interconnects with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, so the AWS link completes a set of secure, private connections to all major cloud providers. The partnership builds on Oracle’s existing Oracle AI Database@AWS offering and on AWS Interconnect – multicloud, which was announced on April 15, 2026, and is designed to simplify private, high‑speed connections between AWS and other hyperscalers.
Oracle’s cloud business is accelerating: IaaS revenue grew 84% year‑over‑year to $4.9 billion in fiscal Q3 2026, and total cloud revenue reached $8.9 billion, up 44% year‑over‑year. The new connectivity is expected to fuel further growth by making it easier for enterprises to adopt Oracle’s cloud services alongside their existing AWS investments, thereby expanding Oracle’s multicloud footprint and reinforcing its position as a key enabler for AI and data‑unification workloads.
Nathan Thomas, senior vice president of product management at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said, "Oracle continues to advance multicloud connectivity as part of its commitment to helping customers unlock flexibility, agility, and performance across clouds." He added, "With Oracle AI Database@AWS, we pioneered a simpler way for customers to run Oracle AI Database workloads in AWS with the same features, architecture, and performance as they expect on‑premises. We're now building on that by establishing connectivity between our popular cross‑cloud interconnect and AWS Interconnect–multicloud. This will help our mutual customers modernize their applications, unify their data, and unlock new generative AI opportunities."
Investors responded positively to the announcement, reflecting confidence in Oracle’s expanded multicloud strategy and its potential to accelerate cloud revenue growth.
