Planet Fitness announced a franchise agreement with Impulso Gym that will bring new clubs to Tijuana and Mexicali, increasing the company’s presence in northern Mexico to 47 locations across 14 states.
The expansion taps into a market where gym membership penetration is below 7%, offering a significant growth opportunity. Planet Fitness now serves 20.8 million members worldwide and operates 2,896 clubs, with roughly 90 % of its locations owned and operated by independent franchisees.
