Philip Morris International announced a $50 million investment to build a new Business Solutions Center at the Highwoods Bay Center, 5426 Bay Center Drive, in Tampa’s Westshore Business District. The hub will bring together business solutions, distribution operations, and customer service functions under one roof.
The investment is expected to create roughly 180 high‑skilled jobs, both direct and indirect, and is part of PMI’s broader U.S. expansion strategy, which has seen more than $1 billion invested in American manufacturing, operations, and workforce since 2022.
The Tampa location was chosen for its business‑friendly environment, robust infrastructure, and skilled talent pool, reinforcing PMI’s commitment to building local teams that advance its smoke‑free mission.
Stacey Kennedy, CEO of PMI U.S., said Florida offers a business‑friendly environment and a deep pool of highly skilled talent, and that the new center underscores PMI U.S.’s long‑term commitment to investing in American communities. Dr. Bob Rohrlack, Tampa Bay Chamber President, praised the decision as a vote of confidence in the region.
The center will support PMI’s strategic shift toward smoke‑free products, aligning with its goal of having two‑thirds of total net revenues from smoke‑free offerings by 2030. Consolidating key functions is expected to improve operational efficiency and strengthen PMI’s presence in the Tampa Bay area.
The investment reflects PMI’s broader U.S. strategy, including significant investments in ZYN nicotine pouch manufacturing facilities in Colorado and Kentucky, and the new corporate organizational model effective January 1, 2026, which created distinct U.S. and International Business Units.
