Pony AI Inc. has launched its first commercial robotaxi service in Europe, beginning operations in Zagreb, Croatia. The service covers roughly 90 square kilometers in the city center, including Zagreb Airport, and runs daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Riders can book and pay through the Verne app, which is operated by the Uber‑backed company Verne.

This launch marks the first commercial robotaxi operation in Europe and validates Pony AI’s Gen 7 autonomous driving platform outside of China. It represents a key milestone in the company’s dual‑engine growth strategy, which seeks to expand both domestically and internationally.

The partnership with Verne provides local operational expertise and a ready customer base, positioning Pony AI to capture a share of the growing European autonomous mobility market. Verne’s Uber backing adds strategic depth to the deployment.

The service is expected to expand to cover the entire city of Zagreb in the near future, further extending Pony AI’s footprint in the region. The launch also signals the company’s confidence in deploying autonomous rides in new regulatory environments and could spur additional competition in the European market.
