The company is investing heavily in content and its direct‑to‑consumer business, planning to release at least 15 films annually in 2026, positioning the new studio as a key component of its broader strategy to capture and retain audiences in a crowded streaming market.
BET’s history of supporting Black creators—evidenced by the 2021 launch of BET Studios—provides a foundation for the Creator Studio. "The Jason Lee Show" will feature Jason Lee’s signature blend of storytelling and cultural commentary. Lee, who has built a digital storytelling slate that has resonated with audiences, will bring his experience to the new series, which is scheduled to air weekly on BET’s digital channels.
