Pyxis Tankers Inc. has appointed Fotis Giannakoulis as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective May 1, 2026, following the departure of Henry Williams, who will step down at the end of April.

Williams has served as CFO since the company’s public listing in 2015, overseeing disciplined capital allocation and balance‑sheet strengthening during a period of significant fleet expansion and market volatility.

Giannakoulis brings 25 years of ship‑finance experience, having worked as a lender, research analyst and investment banker at Morgan Stanley, Fearnleys and ABN AMRO, positioning him to support Pyxis’s growth and capital‑return initiatives.

Pyxis’s strategy focuses on selective acquisitions and opportunistic joint ventures to grow its modern, eco‑efficient fleet while maintaining financial flexibility. Giannakoulis’s background in ship‑finance aligns with the company’s goal of optimizing capital for fleet expansion and navigating the financial complexities of the shipping market.

The company recently refinanced and amended key bank loans, extending maturities and lowering interest margins, and has advanced a share‑buyback program, all of which provide liquidity for future growth. A geopolitical incident in early April saw one tanker anchored outside Iraq, adding operational and financial risk that the new CFO will help manage.

"We sincerely appreciate Henry Williams for his significant contributions to the Company since its public listing in 2015. He is held in the highest regard, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors. We have known Fotis Giannakoulis, both personally and professionally for many years, and are very pleased to welcome him to our senior management team. Fotis brings 25 years of experience in ship finance, having served as a lender, research analyst and investment banker with leading institutions including Morgan Stanley, Fearnleys and ABN AMRO. We look forward to his meaningful impact as we pursue and execute on our next phase of growth."," said Valentios Valentis, Chairman & CEO of Pyxis Tankers.

The transition signals continuity in financial stewardship while adding a seasoned ship‑finance professional who can help the company capitalize on market opportunities and manage capital efficiently as it pursues its next phase of growth.
