Roblox Corporation announced a new subscription service, Roblox Plus, priced at $4.99 per month and set to launch globally on April 30 2026. The service is designed to reward the platform’s most engaged users with a range of benefits while preserving the revenue share for creators.

Subscribers receive a 10 % discount on in‑game and avatar items for the first two months, which increases to 20 % after the third consecutive month. In addition, Roblox Plus grants unlimited access to private servers and allows users to transfer Robux without transaction fees. Optional bundles—Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000—combine the subscription with monthly Robux allowances, but the subscription itself does not include a stipend.

Roblox has clarified that it will cover the cost of the discounts, so creators continue to earn the same amount per item sold. The company also notes that the higher volume of discounted purchases is expected to lift overall sales for creators, potentially increasing their earnings through greater exposure and spend.

The new plan replaces the older Roblox Premium for new sign‑ups. Existing Premium members will receive a one‑month trial of Roblox Plus and can keep their Premium membership, but Premium benefits will be discontinued on May 30 2026. This transition signals a shift toward a benefits‑only subscription model rather than a monthly Robux stipend.

Strategically, Roblox Plus adds a recurring revenue stream that complements its virtual‑currency sales, diversifies monetization, and strengthens the platform’s competitive position. By ensuring creators are not disadvantaged, the company aims to sustain the creator economy that underpins its growth while offering users enhanced value.

Roblox’s recent financial performance underscores the timing of the launch. In Q4 2025 the company reported revenue of $1.4 billion, up 43 % year‑over‑year, and a full‑year 2025 revenue of $4.9 billion, up 36 % YoY. Q1 2025 revenue was $1.035 billion, up 29 % YoY. These results demonstrate robust growth that the new subscription is intended to accelerate.
