Remitly Global, Inc. launched its Remitly app within the ChatGPT platform, allowing users to search for “Remitly” in the app catalog and view current exchange rates and delivery options for transfers from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to select destinations without leaving the chat interface.

The new integration lets users browse rates and delivery times directly in ChatGPT, but it does not support initiating transfers. Instead, the interface directs users to the Remitly app or website to complete the transaction securely, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements.

This move is part of Remitly’s broader strategy to meet customers on the platforms they already use. By embedding its service in ChatGPT, Remitly gains access to hundreds of millions of users who rely on conversational AI for everyday information, potentially lowering acquisition costs and improving conversion rates for its core remittance business.

Remitly’s financial performance provides a strong foundation for the initiative. In Q4 2025 the company reported revenue of $442.2 million, up 26% year‑over‑year, and a net income of $41.2 million, marking its first full year of GAAP profitability. For Q1 2026, management guided revenue to $436–$438 million, a 21% year‑over‑year increase, and projected full‑year 2026 revenue of $1.94–$1.96 billion, representing 19–20% growth.

Ankur Tiwari, Remitly’s VP of Product, said the integration “puts the information our customers need—rates and delivery options—so they can make confident decisions before they send.” CEO Matt Oppenheimer highlighted the company’s strong 2025 results and noted that the momentum “creates the right moment to accelerate execution with a new leader.”

Remitly has a history of leveraging AI and popular communication channels to reach customers. CEO Oppenheimer has described AI as a transformative tool comparable to the internet or mobile technology, and the company previously launched money‑transfer capabilities through WhatsApp, demonstrating a pattern of meeting customers on widely used platforms.

The ChatGPT integration positions Remitly as an early mover in the fintech‑AI space, expanding its digital footprint and reinforcing its commitment to customer convenience. The move also supports the growth of new product lines such as Remitly Flex and Remitly Business, which aim to broaden the company’s cross‑border financial services offering.
