Cubic Corporation announced a partnership with Rimini Street on February 18, 2026 that will allow the defense and transportation technology company to keep its SAP ECC 6.0 system in operation while it focuses on new AI‑driven applications and process automation.

Under the agreement, Cubic will receive third‑party support from Rimini Street for its existing SAP ECC core, eliminating the need for a costly migration to SAP S/4HANA. Rimini Street’s support extends through 2040, giving Cubic a long‑term, low‑cost alternative to SAP’s own maintenance program, which ends mainstream support for ECC 6.0 EHP 0‑5 on December 31, 2025 and for EHP 6‑8 on December 31, 2027.

The partnership frees Cubic’s IT budget from the estimated 50% savings on annual maintenance fees that Rimini Street typically delivers for similar clients. Those savings are expected to be redirected toward modernization projects such as touchless invoice processing, reduced manual intervention in accounts payable, and broader AI initiatives across the organization.

Rimini Street’s “agentic AI” capabilities—autonomous agents that can perform complex tasks, make decisions, and interact across systems—will be integrated into Cubic’s SAP ECC environment. This technology is intended to enhance existing ERP functions without requiring a platform upgrade, allowing Cubic to accelerate productivity gains while maintaining a stable core.

Jack Lidington, Cubic’s Director of Enterprise Applications, said, “Rimini Street has a tailored approach, different than other vendors. They understand our existing technology stack and support us as we move from where we are today to where we’re headed.” He added, “As a result of partnering with Rimini Street, we now have full control over our SAP roadmap and a stronger foundation to move faster on modernization, automation and AI initiatives.”

By keeping its legacy ERP in place, Cubic can avoid the disruption and capital outlay associated with a full S/4HANA migration while still pursuing the digital transformation that is critical to its defense and transportation customers. The partnership positions Cubic to maintain operational stability, reduce long‑term support costs, and accelerate the adoption of AI‑driven efficiencies across its supply‑chain and finance functions.
