RingCentral announced the integration of OpenAI’s generative AI models, including GPT‑5.2, into its enterprise‑grade voice platform. The new capability expands the company’s existing AI suite—AI Receptionist (AIR), AI Virtual Assistant (AVA), and AI Conversation Expert (ACE)—by adding generative AI that can generate responses, summarize conversations, and offer proactive suggestions during calls.

RingCentral’s Q4 2025 earnings showed a $1.13 earnings per share, beating the consensus estimate of $1.07 by $0.06, a 5.6% beat. The company’s revenue of approximately $615 million fell short of the $642.9 million estimate, reflecting a deceleration in top‑line growth and competitive pressure in the UCaaS market. The earnings beat was largely driven by disciplined cost management and operational leverage, while the revenue miss was attributed to slower demand growth and pricing pressure from larger competitors such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

"OpenAI enables us to turn powerful technology into tangible business value – from AI that answers customer calls to AI that assists every employee. Together, we’re helping organizations transform how work gets done, making it faster, smarter, and more human," said Kira Makagon, President & COO of RingCentral.

"By working together, we are bringing intelligence directly into live voice conversations, helping enterprises move faster, serve customers better, and act with confidence," added Giancarlo ‘GC’ Lionetti, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenAI.

"RingCentral is building the future of intelligent business communications powered by agentic voice AI," stated Vlad Shumnis, CEO of RingCentral.

The integration is a key element of RingCentral’s AI‑first strategy, aiming to embed advanced AI capabilities directly into its core voice platform. By automating call handling, capturing intent, and providing real‑time assistance to agents, the company seeks to enhance customer engagement, reduce agent workload, and create new revenue opportunities. The move also positions RingCentral to compete more directly with larger cloud communication providers that are investing heavily in generative AI.

Investors reacted with caution, focusing on the company’s sluggish revenue growth and the need for the AI integration to translate into top‑line acceleration. While the earnings beat was welcomed, the revenue miss and the broader competitive landscape tempered enthusiasm for the announcement.

RingCentral’s AI product suite has already attracted significant interest, with the company reporting that its AI‑led portfolio is approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The new generative AI integration is expected to accelerate that trajectory and strengthen the company’s competitive position in the UCaaS market.
