ReNew Energy Global Plc announced the construction of a 6.5 GW solar ingot‑wafer manufacturing facility in the Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh, India, with a dedicated investment of INR 4,200 crore. The new facility is part of ReNew’s broader INR 82,000 crore commitment to Andhra Pradesh, which also includes a 22,000 crore hybrid renewable project in Anantapur. By moving into ingot and wafer production, ReNew is deepening its backward integration and reducing reliance on imported components, a key objective of India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework.
