XCF Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAFX) and Axens North America entered into a commercial collaboration agreement on April 6 2026 to deploy renewable fuels technology across the United States. The partnership allows each company to contract independently with project developers, enabling scalable deployment of the Vegan® technology without forming a joint venture or exchanging confidential technical information.

The collaboration combines XCF’s modular refinery design with Axens’ Vegan® process, a flexible solution for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel from various lipid feedstocks. By licensing a standardized, repeatable refinery blueprint, the two firms can bring new projects to market more quickly while preserving each company’s proprietary technology and intellectual property.

XCF’s New Rise Reno facility, which has a permitted capacity of 38 million gallons per year, has faced catalyst and ramp‑up constraints that forced a shift to renewable diesel production in mid‑2025. The company expects to resume SAF output at the first facility in the first quarter of 2026, and the collaboration is intended to accelerate that transition and support the launch of a second Reno‑based plant slated for 2028, which would double SAF capacity.

Strategically, the partnership positions XCF to expand beyond its Reno footprint and strengthen its competitive stance against established SAF producers such as Neste and Gevo. The global SAF market is projected to reach $25 billion by 2030, and the ability to deploy a proven, scalable technology platform is expected to give XCF a significant market advantage.

"The technology collaboration established through this agreement is designed to allow XCF to pair its proprietary modular refinery design and execution model with Axens' world‑class Vegan® process. By deploying a standardized, repeatable refinery blueprint through a licensing‑based framework, we believe this collaboration can support the scalable expansion of sustainable aviation fuel production in the United States and around the world," said Chris Cooper, CEO of XCF Global.

"Axens remains fully independent in offering and licensing the Vegan® process worldwide," said Tina Craft, CEO of Axens North America. "The collaboration provides an additional opportunity to engage with project developers who benefit from XCF's project development and management capabilities, utilizing Axens Vegan technology."
