SunCar Technology Group Inc. reported full‑year 2025 revenue of $489.3 million, an 11% increase from $437.5 million in 2024. The company’s net loss narrowed to $2.4 million, a dramatic improvement from the $64.5 million loss recorded in 2024, while operating income swung to $3.9 million from a $58.4 million loss the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $11.0 million, up from $9.8 million in 2024, underscoring the company’s ability to convert revenue growth into profitability. Profitability in the second half of the year was driven by a $1.4 million profit in the third quarter and a $1.7 million profit in the fourth quarter, marking the first time SunCar posted a profit in any quarter of 2025.

Auto eInsurance revenue grew 25% to $212.6 million, while technology services revenue increased 19% to $53.6 million. Auto services revenue was essentially flat, falling 1% to $223.1 million. The company’s first‑half auto‑partner premiums surged over 190% for the full year, and EV insurance premiums rose 111.3% in the first half, reflecting strong demand from leading electric‑vehicle makers such as Tesla, XPeng, NIO, Li Auto, Xiaomi, and Huawei.

SunCar’s partnership with ByteDance, which began in the third quarter of 2025, integrates the Doubao large‑language model into the company’s platform. The AI‑driven technology enhances policy matching, video inspections, and predictive maintenance services, positioning SunCar as a leader in AI‑powered auto insurance solutions.

Revenue growth was largely driven by the expansion of auto eInsurance and technology services, supported by deepening relationships with China’s top EV manufacturers. The company’s profitability improvement was largely attributable to a significant reduction in share‑based compensation expenses and the stronger performance of its AI‑driven insurance and auto services platform.

"I’m very pleased with our strong 2025 results, record revenue of $489 million, and profitability in the second half of the year. SunCar is building unique, AI‑powered technology that enables our auto partners to sell insurance and other downstream services successfully. That is our key differentiator!" said the company’s CEO. "SunCar had a transformational year where our products and partnerships with China’s leading EV companies became truly AI‑centric." The CEO also highlighted the ByteDance partnership, noting that "ByteDance’s world‑class multimodal AI is allowing us to create products such as agent‑based policy matching and pricing, video inspections, predictive maintenance, accident analysis, and other products we could only imagine several years ago."
