Origin Agritech Limited announced the launch of its Aoyun 2026 program, a commercial initiative designed to speed the adoption of its latest high‑performance seed products across China’s major corn belts. The announcement was made at the company’s 2026 Annual Marketing Executive Conference, which ran from March 2‑3 2026 in Changsha, Hunan Province.

The program will coordinate efforts across all subsidiaries and regional teams—including Henan, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, the Northeast provinces, and Xinjiang—to deploy new varieties such as Jingke 317, Jinqiao 8, Xundan 203, and Aoyu 728 during the 2026 planting season. Performance‑accountability contracts signed for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 bind management and subsidiary general managers to specific operational and financial targets, while the Golden Harvest Club distributor alliance, launched in fiscal year 2025, strengthens channel relationships.

Origin Agritech’s FY2025 results provide context for the program’s importance. The company reported revenue of RMB 91.3 million (US$12.8 million), down from RMB 113.4 million (US$16.2 million) in FY2024, and a net loss attributable to Origin of RMB 53.3 million (US$7.5 million), compared with a net income of RMB 20.7 million (US$3.0 million) in FY2024. The decline in revenue was attributed to equipment upgrades and modernization at the Xinjiang factory, which reduced external seed production services and lowered sales of non‑proprietary varieties.

"The launch of ‘Aoyun 2026’ represents a pivotal moment for Origin Agritech, marking our transition from a period of rebuilding to a new era of aggressive commercial execution," said CEO Weibin Yan. "Fiscal year 2025 has been a year of recovery for Origin Agritech. We have fully restored our team, research capabilities, seed production and processing facilities, and sales network infrastructure, and we are now ready to march forward under our renewed leadership," he added.

The Aoyun 2026 program aligns with Origin Agritech’s broader strategy to accelerate the commercialization of next‑generation seed technologies, including GMO and gene‑editing platforms developed in partnership with China Golden‑mark Biotech. The performance‑accountability contracts and the Golden Harvest Club are designed to translate strategic intent into measurable commercial results, ensuring disciplined execution across the company’s supply chain and distribution network.

By launching the Aoyun 2026 program, Origin Agritech signals confidence in its recovery trajectory and its ability to scale new seed varieties across China’s key corn‑producing regions. The initiative is positioned as a core commercial vehicle that will drive adoption of its high‑performance varieties, support the company’s return to industry leadership, and reinforce investor confidence in its long‑term growth prospects.
