Stratasys announced that its TrueDent® resins have received CE Class IIa certification, the first high‑esthetic, monolithic 3‑D‑printed denture solution in Europe to achieve this regulatory status. The certification expands the product’s approved indications to include long‑term intraoral removables (more than 30 days) and crowns and bridges, allowing dental laboratories to treat a broader range of restorative cases through a single digital workflow.

The CE Class IIa designation places TrueDent® resins in the same regulatory category as many conventional restorative dental materials, giving laboratories, clinicians and patients greater confidence in biocompatibility, manufacturing controls, traceability and clinical safety. The certification does not require changes to print settings, formulations or shelf life on the J5 DentaJet® printer platform, and a conversion kit enables existing customers to transition seamlessly from the earlier Class I product.

The European denture market is projected to grow from $2.19 billion in 2023 to $2.45 billion by 2028, positioning Stratasys to capture a larger share of a $2 billion+ market. This growth is driven by an aging population and increasing demand for aesthetic and functional dental solutions.

Stratasys’ recent financial results show revenue declines: Q4 2024 revenue of $150.4 million versus $156.3 million year‑over‑year, and Q1 2025 revenue of $136.0 million versus $144.1 million. GAAP net losses were $41.9 million and $13.1 million respectively. Management attributes the decline to pricing pressure and competitive intensity, while noting that adjusted profitability remains positive.

Management highlighted that the CE Class IIa certification strengthens Stratasys’ strategy to scale digital denture production and expand its foothold in regulated restorative dental markets. CEO Dr. Yoav Zeif emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance for long‑term growth, noting that the certification supports the company’s broader plan to deliver profitable growth through organic expansion and strategic investments.

The certification also removes a regulatory barrier that previously limited the use of TrueDent to short‑term removable appliances, opening new revenue streams in crowns and bridges. By enabling a single digital workflow for a wider range of restorative cases, Stratasys can improve efficiency for dental laboratories and potentially increase market share in the competitive 3D‑printed dental segment.
