Strategic Education’s online learning platform, Sophia Learning, announced a partnership with NurseDash, the on‑demand healthcare staffing marketplace, on April 14, 2026. The deal gives NurseDash’s healthcare professionals access to Sophia’s general‑education courses at a discounted rate, allowing them to advance their nursing credentials while continuing to work for their employers.
The partnership builds on Strategic Education’s already robust employer‑affiliated enrollment program, which accounted for 33.5% of U.S. higher‑education enrollment in the fourth quarter of 2025—up from 30.2% in the same period a year earlier. By targeting the healthcare workforce, STRA is tapping a high‑growth segment that has historically driven strong enrollment and retention for the company.
Sophia courses can be applied toward degrees at Strayer University and Capella University, both of which are part of Strategic Education. This creates a clear funnel from the discounted general‑education offerings to STRA’s credentialed nursing programs, potentially increasing downstream revenue from students who complete the full degree path.
"We are committed to finding new ways to support a strong healthcare workforce ready to meet the growing demands of providers. By partnering with Sophia Learning, NurseDash healthcare professionals will have more freedom to advance in their career," said Andy Chen, founder of NurseDash. "We are pleased to partner with NurseDash to support those who play a vital role in our communities as they pursue career advancement," added Hunter Davis, CEO of Sophia Learning.
The partnership aligns with STRA’s broader transformation from a traditional university model to a technology‑enabled workforce development provider. It expands the company’s Education Technology Services segment, strengthens its recurring‑revenue platform, and positions Sophia as a feeder into STRA’s degree programs—key levers for future growth in a sector that continues to demand flexible, affordable education pathways.
