PowerBank Corporation (NASDAQ: SUUN) entered into a co‑development agreement with GrandBridge Corporation on March 3 2026 to jointly develop and invest in solar and battery storage projects in Ontario. The partnership targets projects with a nameplate capacity of 2 MWac or greater within GrandBridge Energy’s service territory, which includes the City of Brantford, the City of Cambridge, the Township of North Dumfries, and the County of Brant.

Under the terms, PowerBank and GrandBridge will collaborate exclusively for three years on qualifying projects, with an 80/20 ownership split favoring GrandBridge. The collaboration will focus on projects submitted under the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Request for Proposals, Local Generation Programs, and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements. The agreement positions PowerBank to leverage GrandBridge’s local market knowledge and regulatory expertise while providing GrandBridge with PowerBank’s development and construction capabilities.

The deal aligns with PowerBank’s broader strategy to transition from a traditional solar developer to a specialized power‑infrastructure provider for the digital economy. By partnering with a municipally owned utility, PowerBank gains access to a stable customer base and a clearer path to regulatory approvals, potentially accelerating project timelines and enhancing revenue certainty for future independent power producer (IPP) operations.

PowerBank’s recent financial performance supports the partnership. In Q1 FY2026, the company reported a net income of $1.01 million, a turnaround from a $26.49 million net loss in Q1 FY2025. Gross profit margin expanded to 44.62% from 27.47% in the prior year, reflecting stronger project mix and improved operational leverage. The return to profitability and margin growth provide a solid foundation for pursuing new development projects.

"We are proud to sign this co‑development agreement with GrandBridge Corporation, marking a significant milestone for PowerBank’s presence in the Ontario market," said Dr. Richard Lu, President and CEO of PowerBank. "GrandBridge’s deep roots in the communities they serve, combined with PowerBank’s expertise in solar and battery storage development, creates a powerful partnership to deliver clean, reliable energy solutions."

"GrandBridge is committed to developing solutions that enable immediate capacity growth while preserving our ability to connect future customers," said Sarah Hughes, President and CEO of GrandBridge. "Solar generation and battery storage solutions can be developed in relatively short timeframes and at competitive costs, alleviating the pressure of securing incremental transmission capacity."
