Stryker Corporation today announced the launch of Synchfix™ EVT, a next‑generation flexible syndesmotic fixation device that integrates suture‑tensioning handles and a one‑handed deployment handle into a single, low‑profile titanium implant. The device builds on the legacy Synchfix platform and is the first ankle syndesmotic flexible fixation system approved for use in adolescents, expanding treatment options for younger patients with syndesmotic disruptions.

The Synchfix EVT’s design streamlines the surgical workflow by combining the implant and instrumentation into an all‑in‑one system. The one‑handed deployment handle and integrated suture‑tensioning handles reduce operative time and improve precision, while the low‑profile titanium medial implant offers durable fixation for both soft‑tissue and bone stabilization in ankle syndesmosis disruptions, with or without concurrent ankle fractures. The device is also compatible with Weber B, Weber C, and Maisonneuve fracture hardware, broadening its applicability across adult and adolescent populations.

Stryker’s design team earned the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for the Synchfix EVT, a recognition that underscores the product’s user‑centric engineering and surgical efficiency. The award highlights the device’s innovative integration of implant and instrumentation, which simplifies the fixation process and enhances surgical ergonomics for foot and ankle surgeons.

"Stryker is dedicated to helping foot and ankle surgeons treat their patients more efficiently while enhancing patient care and the overall healthcare experience. Synchfix EVT reflects our commitment to delivering next‑generation solutions in soft tissue by designing technologies that help surgeons work more efficiently while keeping patient care and safety at the center," said Adam Jacobs, vice president and general manager of Stryker’s Foot & Ankle business. "Synchfix EVT demonstrates how listening to their needs helps shape meaningful design and procedural advancements."

The company will showcase Synchfix EVT at the 2026 American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Annual Meeting in Portage, Michigan, where surgeons will demonstrate the device’s sterile, single‑use, knotless, and flexible suture‑button system. The presentation is expected to generate interest among orthopedic specialists seeking efficient, patient‑safe solutions for syndesmotic injuries, potentially strengthening Stryker’s position in the foot and ankle market.
