Stryker Corporation presented a slate of new orthopaedic products at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2026 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, which ran from March 2 to March 6. The company announced the Triathlon Gold femoral component—designed for patients with metal sensitivity—and the Triathlon Medial Stabilized (MS) insert, a knee‑implant insert engineered for enhanced stability and natural rotational kinematics. In addition, Stryker expanded its Mako robotics portfolio with the introduction of the Mako RPS (Robotic Power System) for total knee procedures and the full‑market release of the Mako Shoulder system, broadening the company’s robotic‑assisted capabilities across knee, hip, and shoulder surgeries.

"With more than 20 years of proven outcomes, the Triathlon system has set a high standard in knee replacement. Triathlon Gold and the Triathlon Medial Stabilized (MS) Insert represent the next evolution of that legacy – solutions shaped by customer insight and designed to meet the evolving needs of patients," said Lisa Kloes, vice president and general manager of Stryker’s Knee business. The new components are intended to give surgeons additional options for patients with specific clinical needs and to reinforce Stryker’s position in the high‑margin knee‑replacement market.

"As the industry continues to evolve, Stryker is expanding our capabilities across orthopaedic specialties. Surgeons and patients are seeking more solutions, and these innovations are designed to do just that—helping patients get back to the activities they love," added Katherine Truppi, president of Stryker’s Joint Replacement division. Mike Carlin, president of Stryker’s Ortho Tech division, noted, "The Mako brand represents our relentless commitment to advancing orthopaedic patient outcomes through robotics leadership. With nearly 20 years of experience in orthopaedic robotics and over 2 million procedures performed across 46 countries globally, Mako has established robotics as a standard of care, and we are thrilled to add Mako RPS to the Mako family."

Stryker’s product launches underscore a broader strategy to deepen market penetration in high‑margin orthopaedic segments. By adding a metal‑sensitive femoral component and a stability‑focused insert to its Triathlon line, the company is addressing evolving surgeon and patient demands while reinforcing loyalty to its established platform. The expansion of the Mako portfolio—now covering knee, hip, and shoulder robotics—positions Stryker to capture a larger share of the growing robotic‑assisted surgery market, where competitors such as Zimmer Biomet, Smith+Nepphew, and DePuy Synthes are also investing heavily. The announcements signal Stryker’s continued commitment to innovation and its intent to maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving orthopaedic landscape.
